MonkeyBlogger.com For Sale

monkeyblogger

A good friend of mine, Mark Cuda, is selling his flagship blog, MonkeyBlogger.com. I?ve always enjoyed reading his articles and expected his blog to grow bigger, sadly things don’t always go the way you expect them to. Please help him out and bid on the site at http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/44810 as I honestly think it’s worth much more than the current BIN.

It’s kind of sad to see two great blogs go these past couple of weeks, StandOutBlogger.com and now MonkeyBlogger.com :( I wish them both the best of luck with their sales and future projects.

  1. Sometime it is sad to see them go. However, when they go it means we have the opportunity to step up into their place. With readers leaving the blog because the writer is changing they could just find my blog, or yours.
Good bye and good luck to the creator of monkey blogger

  2. Very sad yes to see them go. Mark’s blog was one of the first I read, and at that time it was just a newbie. I hear he has been having a lot of offline stress and therefore cannot keep it up much longer. Unfortunately, I might have to depart the same sad way, because school is taking time and energy and it is hard to blog. I will try to keep it up though.

    Hey Ryan,
That’s what I think sometimes as well, if you were able to get all the readers of the blogs being sold to come to your blog, I think that would work out pretty well :)

    Hey Nathaniel,
I have school coming up in about a month or so, but I’m sure that if organized my schedule and stuck to it, I won’t be having any problems. Let’s just wait and find out :)

  4. Oh no. Another well-designed, good nice blog is going to be sold.

    Hey Desmond,
I know :( Also, I just read on ProTycoon.com that David is also considering to sell his blog, what’s happening….

  6. I can’t believe another established blog is for sale. I will be keeping an eye on the auction.

  7. Hmm…not a good trend I would say. But at the same time, if the investment v/s returns is not good, anybody would be forced to take such drastic measures. Investment doesn’t necessarily mean money – but time, energy etc and returns, as well, not always is linked to monetary benefits alone.

Sometimes, information junkies just consume ideas and wouldn’t even care about engaging in healthy discussions. Perhaps, this is yet another reason.

(I am not talking about the specific blogs mentioned here)

  8. I wonder if we are seeing so many blogs being sold because the market has been so saturated for so long. I mean simple economic principles tell us that industries with low barriers to entry, meaning that just about anyone can start a mmo blog, make for a ton of competition and generally yield low profits. Which means that many of these bloggers may be looking to get out while they still have a chance to make some money.

    Hey Lucas,
I am also amazed at the number of great blogs I personally read being offered for sale. The current offer for MonkeyBlogger.com is only $400, sad to see it that low, it’s worth much more in my opinion

    Hey Ajith,
Well, it depends on what you’re expecting in return. If I am blogging for fun, then I don’t see any reason I should sell my blog no matter how much of my energy and time it’s consuming. But if a blog is setup with particular goals in mind and they turn out not being worth it, I would understand the action of selling the blog.

    Hey Adam,
That might be the case, but I guess each person has his own tale to tell.

  10. I guess all these are pretty much motivated by the growing frenzy of blog flipping around the blogosphere. I reckon it’s not going to be that much of a problem to start another one once the blog is sold and I have seen some who does that successfully.

    Hey Yan,
It would be pretty easy if you had the skills, but there’s still the face that you are going to lose all of your readers. Blog flipping is definitely a profitable method of making money online, but I just think that it isn’t right to flip a blog for profit when your main intention wasn’t to do so.

  12. I really like this blog, the current bid is low, I hope he holds out for a high reserve.
    thanks,

    Hey Keyword….,
I also really like MonkeyBlogger, sad to see it go :(

  14. @Rajaie: You seem to know that I’m not in for the money and I don’t even know how to flip a site either. I couldn’t help but notice all the buzz around the blogosphere in the recent days on the blog flipping. I guess it’s just not my kind of game – at least for now.

    Hey Yan,
To be honest, I don’t even know how to flip a blog nor have I attempted to ever do so! I’m sure I will try in the future, but for now, my main priorities are to build this blog. It’s true that everyone in the blogosphere is talking about flipping things nowadays, I guess it’s because of the recent 24 hour flip over at siteflipu.com

  16. If ever I had the money, I would but monkeyblogger and standoutblogger.

    Hey Hussein,
They would be a very good investment to be honest :)

  18. I really liked Standoutblogger. Tom really gave amazing blogging tips. :(

Anyway, I’m seeing that this post and its comments are having a lot of sad face smileys. Cheer up guys.
