How to Make Money Online on eBay
Selling stuff on eBay is one of the most profitable ways of making money online. For those of you that have been living in a cave for the past 30 years, eBay is the most popular auction website in the world. Millions of of people visit their website every month with only one thing on their mind. Do you know what that thing is? They want to buy stuff. You don’t go to Wal-Mart to look around (well, most people don’t anyway), you go there to buy stuff. The same goes for eBay: the people visiting eBay are people willing to spend money on something they want. This huge market is the reason so many people are so interested in ways to make money on eBay.
The first money-making method that involves eBay is putting up your old things for auction. The reason making money online with Craigslist is much more popular is that you don’t have to pay fees to list your items for sale on Craigslist (unlike eBay, which have a huge fees page with all the details). However, sometimes you will find more buyers on eBay since the number of listings is likely to be less than the number on Craigslist. So…putting up your old stuff for sale (the type of stuff that you’d sell at a garage sale) on eBay is one of the simplest ways of earning money online. Set a reasonable buy it now price and just let the auction run for a few days or weeks. Don’t try listing your item for a buck only though, because eBay disabled the sort by price feature ages ago to prevent that kind of marketing/promotion. People will still go to the fourth or fifth page in hopes of finding the best deal, so setting a low price can really help.
The second method to earn money online with eBay is drop-shipping. You’ve probably seen those ads online that show you how to make money with eBay without shipping products, and drop-shipping is exactly how it’s done. You can make money by dropshipping by acting as a middle man between the wholesaler and the actual customer. Dropshipping is basically when you want to sell things online but don’t want to have to ship them to customers or deal with stock/inventory and all the type of stuff. You just do the selling and and marketing and make money whenever someone buys the product. For example, let’s say you want to sell lamps online. The price the dropshipper gives you is $15, and you sell the lamp for $35 which makes you a $20 profit. This is just an example. You can make a lot of money with dropshipping but it isn’t really for the faint of heart since it requires a lot of time and patience and even risk. When you are working with the dropshipper, you are trusting him/them to ship the products to your customers on time, and if they’re ever late or don’t deliver, it you whom your customers will be coming for!
Those are two of the most basic methods of earning cash on eBay. Of course if you’d like to make more than a small income on the side, you could buy products in bulk yourself and then sell them retail on eBay, but that’s another topic for another time!
