Just A Few Things On My Mind

28 days ago, I wrote a post stating my blog goals for June. Now that the month is over, I am pretty disappointed since I reached only two of my four goals! I got a total of about 1,772 unique visitors, as for the pageviews, I got about 3,577. Too bad 11 posts and 13 subscribers were not even close to the actual goals (35 posts, and 25 subscribers).

My exams ended on June 21st, after that, I had four days till I traveled to Canada for my summer vacation. When I arrived here (Canada), I stayed at my uncles place for a couple of days, that’s why I wasn’t able to do much posting. Now I am staying at my own place, but I still don’t have an internet connection, although, I did find some unsecured wireless hotspots… so hopefully I’ll be able to get much more work done :)

Internet or not, this is what I have decided to do: Write posts whenever I can, proofread them, then post them whenever I get the chance.

In case you haven’t heard of “Blogging Idol“, it’s this amazing contest held by Daniel Scocco, author of DailyBlogTips. Anway, it has officially started today and I will be trying my best to win! If I don’t, then at least I will have enjoyed the competition!

A couple of days ago, I finally got a Paypal account, so if you would like to secure yourself an ad spot for this month, contact me and I’m sure we will figure something out! As for all the free ad spots, I think I will be leaving them up for this month unless someone contacts me and would like to buy one, in that case, I will randomly pick a free spot and remove it.

I hope you liked the part one of my first series “Three Steps To Perfecting Your Theme“. I’m sorry if I didn’t provide a lot of details on how to complete the steps, but I promise you that I will help you out with validating your theme as soon as I have time.

A couple of days ago, Melvin from TheMelvinBlog contacted me asking if I would like to have an Alexa ranking competition with him this month, sadly, I had to turn him down because of my current situation :( If he is still willing, we will probably do it next month or maybe the one after. In fact, it really doesn’t matter when we do it, since I most likely will win by using all means possible play fair and square :D

I think that will wrap it up for now. The next part of my theme series will probably be posted tomorrow, so stay tuned…

  1. Hey, the reason you didnt make your rss goal was probably because of your limited posts. Just try again this month and best of luck with blogging idol!

  2. The blogging idol is gonna have a ton of competition, market leverage should have waited a bit before giving out those amazing prizes, the prizes gave a big subscriber boost to most blogs.

    @Germz, I agree with you, if MarketLeverage had just waited a bit, then I’m sure it would have got double the exposure. Ah well, it’s their loss…

    @Melvin, sure, I’ll email you whenever possible. Yes, I am currently using my dad’s credit card.

  8. Well alexa sucks so better have a competition on pageviews or unique visits using google analytics but if you want to get higher rank in alexa then you have to install the toolbar and their widget in your blog,this works!! never tried it though but heard it works well…

    @Rockstar Sid, I don’t think pageviews or unique visits can be used since either one can use stumbleUpon for a large amount of traffic in a short time. I’ll think of something :)
