I Messed Up, Big Time

In case you’re wondering where all the comments on my previous post disappeared, it kinda goes like this…

As you all probably know, I’m working on a free WordPress theme for you guys and am using a local installation of WordPress to test it out. In my rush, I accidentally deleted the latest post from this blog rather than the local installation. Luckily, Firefox saved me! I clicked back, copied the post, then re-posted it once again. Sadly, all the comments on the post were deleted :(

Just wanted you guys to know what happened so you didn’t think I deleted all of your comments and why the post appeared in the feed again.

Update: Woohoo! It seems that I forgot to empty my Gmail trash and still have a few comments that were left on the old post, now to restore them! :D

    I really appreciate it :)

  8. Not at all. I usually make mistakes. No problem. Now I leave my new comment on your blog. Wish you enjoy your life.

  9. I had done a similar mistake during my initial days where I had taken back up from live system and installed on local. Unfortunately, due to some settings issues it was pointing to the live system and I changed the theme code there  It took me a while to fix it, then…

I have not still mastered how to take backup from the live system and use it to update local. My WP a/c gets screwed up every time I do so…

    Best Regards,
    Ajith

  10. It’s not as bad as you think, I’ve done worse. You only lost a few comments but if you lost half your site, then you’d have messed up big time!
