Don’t Stuff Your Readers With Too Much

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler.
-Albert Einstein

Some people have always had the idea that the longer their posts are, the better. Well I hate to break it to them, but the truth couldn’t be any farther than that. I personally think that if a post needs more than two hours to be written, then it should be broken down into multiple parts.

You see, most people nowadays are busier than ever, and the thought of reading a 2,750 word article during their lunch break doesn’t really appeal to them. This is exactly why I chose the following tagline for my blog “Simple Tips That Will Rock Your Blog”. That’s why your primary goal when writing a post should be to keep it as simple as possible.

So instead of writing a post sharing the top 1,000 webdesign mistakes, why not post 100 articles with 10 tips each? That way you’ll provide your readers with more articles and also help them have enough time apply your tips and ideas.

Don’t get me wrong here, I’m not telling you that from now on you should start doing 3 line posts, but why not try limiting the novels to a few each month. Don’t worry, here are some simple tips that will help make sure your articles are read:

  1. Keep it short
  2. Ask yourself if you would you read it; if not, start over
  3. Stick to the point
  4. If it’s not important, get rid of it

  1. Well done bud, keep it up

  2. Really, it’s a fact that most users do not read those 3000 words article. So, it’s a very nice tactic to break them into multiple parts.

    Hey Swastik,
If it is a really in-depth guide, I will usually scan it to find the important parts, but never read the entire thing!
